Causes of leakage during static pressure test of mechanical seal
Due to careless installation of mechanical seals, the end faces of the mechanical seals are often bruised, deformed, damaged, uncleaned, and granular impurities are trapped, or because the positioning screws are loose and the gland is not pressed tightly, the precision of the machine and equipment is not enough.If the sealing surface is not fully fitted, the medium will leak. If the shaft sleeve is leaking, it means that the shaft sleeve sealing ring is not compressed or damaged the amount of compression is not enough during assembly.

Reasons for periodic or intermittent leakage of mechanical seals
The periodic vibration of the rotor assembly of the mechanical seal and the large amount of axial movement will cause leakage.The sealing surface of the mechanical seal must have a certain specific pressure, so that it can play a sealing role. This requires the spring of the mechanical seal to have a certain amount of compression, giving a thrust to the sealing end surface, and the reaction kettle rotates to make the sealing surface produce the specific pressure the sealing required.

In order to ensure this specific pressure, the mechanical seal requires the shaft not to have too much channeling, generally within 0.25mm. However, in practical applications, due to unreasonable design, manufacturing errors, assembly errors and other reasons, the shaft often produces a large amount of channeling, and periodic or intermittent leakage occurs.

Causes of frequent leakage of mechanical seals
There are many reasons for the frequent leakage of mechanical seals: One is the frequent leakage caused by the defect of the sealing end faces of the mechanical seal; The second is the frequent leakage caused by the auxiliary sealing ring; The third is leakage caused by spring defects;

Others include leakage caused by rotor vibration, leakage caused by poor quality or looseness of transmission, tightening and thrust parts, leakage caused by mechanical seal auxiliary mechanism, frequent leakage caused by media problems, etc.

Ways to Reduce Leakage of Mechanical Seals
Keep the environment clean and smooth when assembling. Mechanical seal parts, tools, lubricating oil, and wiping materials must be very clean. The sealing end faces of the mechanical seals should be wiped with soft gauze.
Trim the chamfer rounding. The chamfers of shafts and sealing end caps should be trimmed and smoothed, and the rounded corners of shafts and end caps should be sanded and polished.
When assembling the auxiliary sealing ring, the rubber auxiliary sealing ring cannot be soaked and washed in gasoline or kerosene to avoid swelling, deformation and premature aging.
After the friction pair of the mechanical seals are assembled, press the compensation ring by hand to check whether it is in place and flexible; whether the elastic split ring is positioned reliably. After the rotary face is installed, it must be ensured that it moves flexibly in the axial direction on the shaft.
