Let’s continue to talk about the method of measuring the compression amount of the mechanical seal of the double-supported centrifugal pump.
From the contact end surface of the shaft and the inner ring of the bearing of the mechanical seal to the contact plane of the suspension and the bearing box of the mechanical seal (for example: add the measured data to the thickness of the depth gauge 4mm, and adjust the ratio of the shaft shoulder end surface to the suspension of the mechanical seal by using a copper rod (hammer) by slight axial knocking method) The height of the plane is 4.6mm. At this time, the rotor is in the half-string position after normal installation (also known as the normal running position of the rotor)
Remarks: When measuring, pay attention to whether there is a half-string adjustment pad between the end face of the inner ring of the bearing and the end face of the shaft shoulder of the mechanical seal. It needs to be installed and measured or added to the thickness dimension.
Step 3: Measure from the sealing end face of the sealing cavity and the mechanical seal gland to the sealing surface of the rotary face of the mechanical seal (the value is 25.7mm for example)
Step 4: Measure from the sealing end surface of the machine seal gland and the sealing chamber to the sealing surface of the stationary seat of the mechanical seal (for example, the value is 29.7mm)
The fourth step 29.7mm minus the third step 25.7mm = final compression 4mm
Remarks: When measuring the compression of the drive end mechanical seal, it is also necessary to place the rotor at a half-string position for measurement. If the non-drive positioning bearing is not removed, the position of the rotor can be ignored, and the third and fourth steps can be directly carried out. The cartridge mechanical seal does not need to measure the amount of compression. After all the work is done, fix the radial jacking screw of the shaft sleeve and loosen the compression amount adjustment piece.
The above content is about the method of measuring the compression amount of the mechanical seal of the double-supported centrifugal pump.
