working principle of pump ring
Compared with the mechanical seal device itself, the cost of pumping ring is very low. Except for very little  consumed  shaft power, it does not involve other problems. It is economical and practical. So it is widely used in mechanical seal device.
Actually, the pump ring is a device that can improve the efficiency of the pump in addition to its function in the mechanical seal system. It reduces the internal leakage loss of the pump by injecting fluid back into the inlet end of the pump, thereby improving the efficiency of the pump.
The working principle of the pump ring can be divided into the following steps:
1. Inlet pressure stage: When the pump starts, the inlet pressure continues to increase, causing the internal pressure of the pump ring to gradually increase.
2. Start the pump: When the inlet pressure is higher than the internal pressure of the pump ring, the pump ring will automatically close to prevent fluid from flowing back into the pump.
3. Leakage fluid injection pump: After the pump ring is closed, a small part of the fluid will flow from the pump outlet back to the pump inlet through incomplete sealing of the pump or other leakage paths.
4. Restart of the pump ring: When the internal pressure of the pump ring drops below a threshold, the pump ring will automatically reopen, allowing the leaked fluid inside the pump ring to flow back into the pump.
5. Circular injection process: The leaked fluid continues to be injected into the pump, increasing the return flow of the pump and improving the efficiency of the pump. Through this cyclic injection process, the pump ring can reduce the internal leakage loss of the pump and improve the efficiency of the pump. At the same time, the pump ring can also reduce the vibration and noise of the pump and extend the service life of the pump.
